YORKVILLE - More than 15 Chicago-area expert artists and musicians have signed as much as display their function or perform from 2 to 7 p.m. Sunday at a totally free South Bank Art and Music Festival at 5 Yorkville businesses and also the Riverfront Park.
The businesses which are participating consist of River City Roasters, which is expanding its coffee shop at the Riverfront Park to consist of the South Bank Art Gallery; Casa Santiago, 227 Heustis St.; Geneva Kayak; Inventive Kernels; and Freeman's Sports Inc., 129 E. Hydraulic St. If the weather is good, concerts also will probably be performed at the pavilion in Riverfront Park.
Attendees are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item for the Kendall County Food Pantry, and some of the artists are donating artwork to become auctioned off as a fundraiser for the pantry.
The occasion will be the brainchild of Yorkville resident Trish Kinnavy-Marshall, a guitarist and folk song writer who also owns Holistic Hair. She says this will be the first inside a series of on-going artistic events to highlight what she has dubbed Yorkville's "South Bank" - that area on the south side of the Fox River adjacent towards the new Marge Cline Whitewater Course.
"This South Bank area is really a perfect place to hold this Monster Beats," Kinnavy-Marshall says. "There's so much going on here now. You are able to kayak or canoe or fish, and in the event you don't want to kayak, you can get a coffee, or popcorn, or ice cream, or Mexican food Beats Headphones, or sit in the coffee shop and look in the artwork. It's exciting."
Kinnavy-Marshall stresses this is just the very first inside a series of events to highlight the ongoing art shows.

Stars like Franco part of Hot Docs
TORONTO - Films chronicling the soap opera days of actor James Franco, the abuse and addictions suffered by hockey star Theo Fleury and also the influence of music heroes Bob Marley and LCD Soundsystem are hitting the big screen at next month's Hot Docs festival.
Organizers for the Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival say this year's slate features 189 titles from a record 51 countries and can bring at least a few international stars to Toronto.
"We're expecting both James Franco and Rick Springfield to come," stated executive director Chris McDonald, singling out Sylvia Caminer's look at Springfield fans in An Affair of the Heart as particularly engrossing.
"It's a fascinating look at the individuals who dedicate a lot of their lives to following someone whose music had a great impact on them at some point in their lives."
McDonald pointed to several themes emerging from the broader slate.
"We're seeing lots of films on the economy, on workers' rights, on global problems, on the recession," he stated after a presentation Monday at the festival's newly renovated downtown theatre space.
"But there is lots of funny stuff as well - a lot of films about romance Beats Studio, a lot of great films on music, a brand new film on Bob Marley which might just end up becoming the seminal piece on his dramatic life."
Standouts include a look at Franco's tenure on General Hospital in Ian Olds' Francophrenia (Or: Do not Kill Me, I Know Where the Baby Is); Fleury's battle with booze, drugs and gambling as he confronts his ghosts in Matt Embry and Larry Day's Theo Fleury: Playing with Fire; Kevin Macdonald's "definitive" biography of reggae legend Marley; along with a chronicle of LCD Soundsystem's farewell show in Shut Up And Play the Hits.
The festival kicks off April 26 with director Alison Klayman's debut function documentary, Ai Weiwei: Never Sorry, a portrait from the Chinese artist and activist.

'Trial separation' for Sneaky Sound System's Connie Mitchell and Angus McDonald
SNEAKY Sound Method singer Connie Mitchell may be about to embark on a split with her musical husband.
However, that shouldn't be seen as adding fuel to current rumours about her bedroom activities with females.
"Sorry ladies," Mitchell clarifies. "It was misconstrued. I place my foot in my mouth sometimes. I meant to say I like lesbians and gays, however it came out as I personally like lesbians and gays.
"I certainly admire ladies, I'll sit there and check them out in the beach, I am all for a fairly lady. But that's exactly where it ends."
For Mitchell, 2012 is really a transitional year. She will finish touring Sneaky Sound System's inspired third album From Here to Anywhere then move to LA to embark on a solo career.
Her Sneaky companion Angus McDonald is not worried. Indeed, he pimped out his band wife for some enjoyable on the side.
"He really planted the concept Beats Studio," Mitchell says. "I'd showed him some stuff I'd written he liked. He said I should maintain it to get a solo album.

"He stated to Kanye, 'Hey man, why didn't you get Connie as much as sing with you?' " Mitchell recalls proudly.

"I could do that until I was 60 and then do my 'I'm never going to tour again' tour. But do I really want that in life or do I want to play in the major leagues? It's truly scary, but I believe it has to be done."
Mitchell has a vision for her solo material to become much more "edgy and esoteric" than Sneaky. Future R&B is a catchphrase. "That doesn't mean it's R&B - Kate Bush singing more than R&B could be Future R&B Dre Beats, but it's not R&B," she says.
All of this means Sneaky Sound System's tour next month is their last Australian jaunt to get a while. And they're going out with a costly bang.
"We're not making any money on this tour, it'll go all into the production," Mitchell says. "We want Cheap Beats By Dre to become an extravaganza.
"We want to get back to when you went to a concert and went, 'Wow, that was amazing'. Before individuals lip-synched and produced it look like a stage production of Rent."

The 'Game Day' problem, is a tricky one, neither Best Buy nor Wal-mart were interested in participating in my research. I have to admit that I was deflated and decided to park the whole project on the back burner.
As is so often the case, the answer to a complex problem comes from Monster Beats . Many claim that Isaac Newton came up with the whole idea of gravity by being smacked on the head by a falling apple. Newtonian science was born!
It was a similar revelation for me. The solution to getting that live 'game day' feel was simple. I cannot tak e credit for it, it was my wife that made the great discovery.
We live on a hurricane zone, so we have a TV in the living room that weighs more than the state of Mississippi. It would take special permits and the use of NASA's crawler to move this beast. Jan has a 'bad back' but likes to watch TV in the kitchen. Even though the Space Shuttle program had been shut down, so the Crawler was free, there was the problem with parking!? We have a good sized back yard, but someone would likely complain if we parked the crawler there. Also there was the issue of access to the house. The Crawler would not fit through the door, in fact it was about ten times wider than the entire house. It is also reported that it is pretty heavy on gas. It does not go by Miles Per Gallon (MPG), IPG (Inches per Gallon) is a better way of looking at it. The Crawler was out!
My wife came up with a solution to the problem was deceptively simple, and solved my quest for the game day experience. She has installed a harmless looking 20 inch TV in the kitchen. Now every program sounds like you are in the stadium. There is that wonderful Beats By Dr Dre ! Jerry Springer has taken on a new dimension, even the local news people sound better.
Everything is now like being in a huge stadium.
Every house is different, so I cannot guarantee the same results. But I have found that positioning the TV's exactly 18.5 feet apart produces the best result. Every program can be enjoyed as if you are in the stadium.

City's 'penny pinching' threat to Anzac march
THE Gosnells RSL sub-branch says the Anzac Day march will not go ahead unless the City of Gosnells provides more assistance for the occasion.
Gosnells RSL president Alan Stubbs said the City had changed the way it supported the occasion, making it also tough for the march or perhaps a breakfast to happen.
He said in the past, the City had funded and organised a PA system and sausage sizzle.
"Now they want the RSL to organise the sausage sizzle and the sound method," he said.

Phone-box infant is reunited with her saviour
A mum who was abandoned as a baby inside a telephone box 44 years ago has been reunited for the very first time using the garda who saved her.
Helen Ward could not have been older than each day or two when a lorry driver found her at the bottom of a phone kiosk in Dundalk and rang gardai.
Sgt Michael Connolly (now 87) was the very first individual to lift baby Helen from the kiosk and take her to nearby Louth County Hospital.
Yesterday, the two spoke to each other for the very first time following decades of hoping to meet.
Passion
"In the back of my thoughts, I remember making enquiries about my birth and hearing Sgt Connolly's name but when there was no information about my birth mother, I got disillusioned and left it there," stated Helen.
"So when I heard the sergeant speak with such passion about finding me yesterday, I was really glad I lastly had the courage to find out much more about my origins," the mum-of-three told the Herald.
Helen beats pro, who revealed her plight on Liveline yesterday, was touched to hear the emotion in Sgt Connolly's voice once they finally spoke.
" I did not think it would be so emotional, I am really glad we got to speak and we will certainly be meeting soon."
Father-of-eight Sgt Connolly told presenter Joe Duffy that his investigation had not yielded any info about Helen's 1st days.
"I brought Helen up to the local county hospital ... We did make some enquiries alright, but the kid was left there, nobody came afterwards dr dre headphones, nobody said anything concerning the child," the pensioner said.
"They called you [Aileen Brenda] Marsh up in the hospital following the marshes, I believe [the phonebox was on Marsh Road]. "There was [an investigation but] there were no leads at all."
Helen was adopted by the Wards when she was 13 months old, and she grew up with their biological daughter Mary (45) in Dublin.
Helen said her parents, who're now in their 80s beats by dre studio, were extremely supportive of her search. "My mum was happy, she told me, 'You have every correct, it is something you have usually wanted to do'," Helen stated.

Helen was offered an additional surprise on her birthday yesterday when she was reunited with a godmother she did not know she had.
A nurse monster headphones, only known as Mary, contacted Joe Duffy yesterday to speak to Helen.
"I was on night duty in the Louth County Hospital the night Fr Pasmore baptised Helen," Mary said.
"We known as her Aileen Brenda and he came up using the surname. She was a beautiful baby."
